Sylar, Our Hero!
If you haven't watched last night's Heroes, remove the top of your head and input the contents of the episode before reading further.

So, good news and bad news. On the one hand, Mohinder's not dead. But on the bright side, Sylar could still kill him in the next episode!
While last night's episode didn't match last week's, it was a nicely paced capper to the season's middle arc of episodes. I thought the cliffhanger (or, ceiling- and wall-hanger) was a letdown, though: not much suspense in jeopardizing a character who we pretty much know can't die since he's central to the season's climax. (Oops, Peter's dead! Guess we don't have to worry about New York blowing up anymore! Yay, Sylar!) As always, it looked great, though, especially the luscious drops of Peter's blood hitting the floor: Heroes really has a CSI-like painterly touch with the red stuff.
I'm sure I'm late to the party on this one, by the way, but is there a theory floating around out there that Sylar and Peter are related? We know that the superpower business is genetic, after all, and I don't believe we know of any other cases of two people having the same, or even very similar, powers.
I'd be a little surprised if the writers went the secret-family route again, after revealing that Nathan is Claire's pops. But on the other hand, we know the Petrellis have a history of spreading their DNA around.

I don't think Peter and Sylar have the SAME power. Peter has the ability to 'store' the other abilities of the other muta*cough* Sorry. Heroes.
Where as Sylar has the ability to see how the brain functions and apparently rearrange his own grey matter to make it mimic the other power.
Similar, yes. Identical, not quite.
Personally I'm looking forward to more action between Claire and Ma Petrelli. She's pretty damn cool about the whole "long lost grandchild who can come back from the dead repeatedly". I'm sad to see the Bennets and Mr. Muggles(sob!) go but they'll be a useful and emotional stick to beat us with when Claire inevitably decides that "The Company" is bad and must be taken down.

Peter may not be dead, but at least Sylar is giving him a much-needed haircut.

Peter will also receive the scar that "Future Hiro" spoke of. I am looking forward to that and wondering why he has a scar since he is able to heal himself. Should be interesting.

This makes 2 straight weeks where Heroes has dominated 24 in their competition for quality in the timeslot. Heroes is really growing on me, although I'm still not ready to cede my favoritism for Lost to the Heroes storyline. Lost is still, to me, the better show.
A bigger question is what happened to 24? Rehashing the Jack in a consulate storyline? Bringing back old characters inexplicably? I get the feeling the writers didn't have a plan this year....why kill off Graem so soon? Why not let the pressure on Jack build? Why not give Chloe, or Bill Buchanan, or anyone at CTU really something more to do than answer phones?
I think 24 needs to return to an idea from a couple seasons ago - go smaller. No nukes - just tension on a small scale forcing Jack to use his ingenuity and smarts to defeat a threat. Remember, season 1 was about an assasination attempt and a jail break - you don't need the threat of World War III to build the tension, just interesting characters, a solid plot, and some credibility in the twists that happen.

Lost has the better story? Sorry but you must be drinking the Dharma kool-aid. Heroes is exciting week after week. The flashbacks are actually relevant, mysteries actually get solved or at least continued...I could go on.
Hopefully Tim Kring can keep this energy up for seasons to come.

The shape-shifter girl is gorgeous. That being said, her presence augments a stern, compelling (and some might even admit), crucial inquiry. If she were really a guy, but shape-shifted into what she looks like now, then offered herself for one night, should a self-respecting heterosexual male engage in the affair? I say it all comes down to voice/organ transfer. Clearly, if the reproductive organs of the male are retained, the deal's off. Not so clear, but as I think is equally as crucial, is the voice. It appears that the shape-shifter can adopt the voice of her choosing. If this is so for our hypothetical, I say go for it!
