Idolwatch: Crooned In
My weekly American Idol review has been posted; AI served up something for Grandma last night, bringing in the legendary Tony Bennett for the weekly ritual of "mentoring" (i.e., having his advice generally ignored by) the singers. My picks this week? I'm going with a bottom three of Phil, Haley and--less confident on this one--Gina, with Phil taking his dome home after the vote-off. Please add your dissensions, theories and attacks on Sanjaya (Fools! It only makes him stronger!) below.

Can you say "snoozefest"? If I had to stand up and sing one of the songs from last night I couldn't because they weren't very memorable.
Can you say "cramfest"? After stretching the show to 2 hours a couple of weeks ago, last night was a "get up and go" show - were the judges even there last night? No time for their opinions that's for sure! Simon probably thought the night was a bloody waste of his time...
No real opinions on who might stay or go. My AI heart still yearns for Blake, Gina and Jordin so I'll just hope they are still standing at the end of the night...

My husband and I came to the same conclusion; that Phil, Haley, Gina and (yes) Sanjaya, are in the bottom four.
I think if the Sanjaya factor works in his favor once again this week, it will be Gina who says farewell for we both think that (for this song/week) she was weaker than Phil. However, Phil is a consistent low vote-getter so it could be the end of the bald one.
Personally, I pray Sanjaya is gone by 9:30 tonight because I think the other 'singers' deserve to compete w/out him throwing the voting out of whack, because (let's get real) he CAN'T SING! -

This year's AI is now a two-singer competition between LaKisha and Jordin. All the guys can exit stage left, or right for that matter, just exit and do so quickly. Gina, Haley and Melinda are considerably much more talented than any of their male competitors yet they are immensely overshadowed by the previously mentioned female "big voices". I say, bring on some Christina Aguilera songs for a runoff between the two!!

I honestly don't care for Phil, so I would not be sad if he was kicked off. The only thing that bothers me is that there is so much negative attitude on stage right now that I cannot cut through it quite yet in order to really enjoy the performances. In light of all of that, I do like Blake, Gina and Jordan also. They appear to be the best "undiscovered" talent. My opinions, though.

I am digusted that the judges are actually making the whole Sanjaya stunt even more appealing to the public by accepting it and even giving good thoughts about it. They don't even say anything about his singing anymore, its all about his hair, I'm sorry i thought i was watching a singing competition, but honestly i look for simon to keep it real, and even he has failed. I think Lakisha is the strongest singer in the competion, but there is much talent, its a shame for singing talent to get voted off a singing show before nice hair does. This show is becoming a joke which is sad, i used to fully enjoy the "real" competition between the singers

As far as I'm concerned they can all get voted off except Jordin. She is young, fresh and hip. She can do old and new music and her voice is awesome. Melinda has a good voice but she doesn't belong in this competition. She's to professional. This is suppose to be for unknown talent. Lakisha I like and hopes she makes it to the number two spot behind Jordin in the number 1 spot.

What is America thnking. Even sanjaya thinks the judges like him, I just think they are so appalled that America has kept him in they are now making a joke out of him. Sanjaya should have never made it to the top 20. If this continues to happen there will be no more American Idol, as the judges said in the beginnig, this is a about singing, nothing else.
SANJAYA NEEDS TO GO -

Yes, Melinda, Lakisha and Jordin are excellent vocalists, as are Blake and Chris Richardson. But I would say over the past several weeks, the ones that have really moved me emotionally are Melinda and Chris, I would very much like to see them as the final two.

I really wish people would stop voting for Sanjaya! He get's on my nervs, how he got the notion he could sing is truely beyond me.HE SUCKS!!!!! The rest of the contestants are being short changed. And in all fairness, really Sanjaya has got to go!!!!!!!!!
