Programming Note
I'm away this week, traveling to a family wedding. (I know! I just took a week off in April! We're like the French here at Time Inc., except less well-dressed.) So posting will be lighter than usual. You're welcome.
You're not entirely off the hook, however. I've set up the RoboPoster 3000 machine to post some daily discussion questions, to prepare you (and me) for next week's gala extravaganza, in which yours truly will be attending and blogging the network upfront presentations (i.e., fall-schedule announcements) in New York. American Idol reviewing duties this week will be fielded by Mr. Josh Tyrangiel, time.com editor and music critic, who has written the definitive pieces on Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken.
Plus, if I can connect my laptop from my mom's house in Michigan without starting a fire, there will hopefully be a short Lostwatch post, mostly because I want to hear what you all will have to say about it. Otherwise, enjoy your vacation from me.

The RoboPoster 3000? Really? When you have the likes of myself, Chad or Paul, you choose the RoboPoster 3000? Fine! If that is the way you want to blow your hard earned cash, that is fine by me. I mean, one of us could move in while you are gone and handle things for you. But nooooo, James doesn't need his loyal friends. I can't speak for Chad or Paul, but I promise not to drink from the milk carton, sleep in your bed, drink all your beer or impregnate your dog. Well, I mostly promise.

Actually, I see from the above RoboPost that you've all jumped in and taken over as honorary guest posters. Clearly the secret of a lively discussion at Tuned In is for me to go away more often!

Have fun with the wedding and all, but don't you want to discuss/comment/hold forth on the significance of ABC's agreement with Cuse and Lindelof to mark an end date for Lost. Three more 16-ep seasons... can you recall a situation like this, where a show (successful, but not as much of a ratings hit as in earlier years) has a deal to continue for *three* more seasons? I know that NBC gave a two-year renewal to "Will & Grace," but that was way back in the day when the show was on its way up (and the network had little else to program with).
Now, if only NBC would tell us they are picking up "Friday Night Lights" for a full season...
