Gossip Girl: New School

I've already reviewed Gossip Girl once, and really twice, considering that the impressions from my Test Pilot preview this summer pretty much hold up. So I'm not going to review it a third time here, because of (1) deadlines and (2) what am I, a sucker? But here's a public-service reminder to the O.C.-deprived to get on on the ground floor when this potentially sin-tastic rich-kid soap debuts tonight. For those of you offended by shows that suggest that teenage prep schoolers may actually have sex and do drugs, there's a nice Kelsey Grammer sitcom debuting instead.

I came in ready to hate this show, but I downloaded the pilot from iTunes and was really pleasantly surprised by how much I took to some of the characters. Especially Serena, and her new boy and his sister. Kristen Bell's narration was spot-on, too! I am gonna give this show at least a few more episodes to get me hooked. . .

I'll probably watch this tonight but I just wish it had a less adolescently feminine title. I'm going to catch flack at work if I talk about liking any show with alliteration and "girl" in the title.
