JPTV: What I'm Watching Tonight: "--dary!"

We've waited four months for Barney to complete that adjective, and he does, on the season return of How I Met Your Mother. The episode itself is an average one at best--including a dull guest role by Mandy Moore as Ted's rebound squeeze and a slightly better Enrique Iglesias turn as Robin's--but there are promising signs for the future, including (1) a tantalizing glimpse of Your Mother, or at least of something that belongs to her, and (2) a foreshadow of payoffs to come regarding the Slap Bet. Wait for it!

As you can tell, I've actually watched the episode, so this is a bit of a cheat as JPTV entries go. I'll actually be watching Heroes, as, I'm guessing, will be many or most of the regulars here. But has anyone given up on the show after last season's merely whelming finale?

The season ending was GREAT if you watched in HD! Really though I ended up missing the last two episodes for whatever reason so after a few months the excitement kind of died down and when I watched it I was just happy to see the characters again.

Heroes seaosn finale was so bad it relly had a retro-active effect on me, putting a taste on the whole season (due to how they constructed it)

I never agreed that it was such a great show, but it was pretty good. but now, while i'll still be watching this season (at first at least, we'll see how it goes...) i have lost expectations & excitement towards the show, yes

Karma, the show is going to be on iTunes this year and (I've heard) the last two episodes from last season are going to be available there for free.

I'm REALLY excited about the premiere tonight. So excited, in fact, I started a blog a few weeks ago to support the show.

    Check it out

Sorry, James, for using the comments for shameless self-promotion.

Are we going to see a HIMYM watch or should we return here for discussion of tonight's episode after it airs?

Oh, and I'll be watching Heroes but I'm in the club of 'underwhelmed' by last season's finale. My expectations are low.

I am very excited for both the premiere of HIMYM and Heroes. Thank goodness I had a TiVo though as I am stuck in the Indianapolis International Airport!! Grr argh...

@Justin: Despite your very flattering remarks about my new photo (the best retouching Time Inc's money can buy!), I doubt there will be a regular HIMYM Watch. Mainly just because, as we get into the regular season, if I did Watches of everything I watched regularly, this blog would be nothing but Watches. I'll probably do like I did last year and post the morning after on just those episodes that were especially comment-worthy.

Yeah, I get it. It's a much better "watch" when the show in question is heavily serialized or has a lot of loose ends - sitcoms don't often cut it. That being said, last night's episode was great, I thought, and didn't suffer too much from guest-star-itis. BBT wasn't as bad as I thought either, I kind of enjoyed it.
