JPTV: What I'm TiVoing Tonight

So the good news: for the BSG-starved, Sci Fi begins showing two-minute "flashback" minisodes that lead up to the two-hour Battlestar Galactica movie Razor, November 24.

So the bad news: Sci Fi is airing them in the middle of Flash Gordon, one of the worst series anyone has committed to video this season.

Clearly an argument for TiVoing Flash and fast-forwarding to the minisodes, or just watching them online after they air. But what if your computer and TiVo are Cylons?

As I don't have a TiVo yet, I use my old-fashioned VCR to tape anything and everything I watch that's not on HBO, since I can't stand having to sit through 20+ minutes of commercials and promos. At least you're lucky, you get them without the breaks so the dramatic moments all you tv critics/reviewers love to talk about aren't broken up by 4 or 5 minute breaks. Yes, 5 minute breaks! Do you know how long it takes to FF past a 5 minute break?
What do I tape? No reality shows ever. I record the CSI's, the original Law&Order, Vegas, the CBS Monday block, NCIS, Til Death, Back to You. I am reserving judgment on Bionic Woman, but it's not looking good as her sister keeps getting in the way. Looking forward to 24.
I also record Mythbusters, Build It Bigger, Modern Marvels, History Detectives on PBS, Dogfights (as in aerial combat) on History Channel.
Until tv channels remember that less is more and stop increasing the amount of ads and promos (and let's not forget those snipes - Human Weapon's snipes make me wish I had one to throw at the tv), I will not watch a show in real-time. Think back to days before 1978; fixed commercial time in prime time. Something like 4 or 5 minutes tops per 30 minutes.
And you reviewers need to remember the interruptions and how it affects our enjoyment (or not) of a show. So, think about it the next time you watch a "60-minute" show in 38-40 minutes and without the promos and snipes.
As for HBO, I didn't like John from Cincy or Tell me or 6 feet under. I don't watch Entourage or Big Love or Larry David's show either. I did like Sopranos and Deadwood and Dennis Miller.
Ok, we now return you to our regular broadcast already in progress.
To quote Dennis, This is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
