Last night's South Park didn't take on the writer's strike, or really anything (with maybe just a little satire of conspiracy movies).
It probably won't go down as a memorable episode. But it also was pretty funny and I enjoyed it.
Abe Lincoln: "He won't realize until he's 40 that he's a total douche."
The gunshot gag was great too.

Haven't gotten around to watching Pushing Daisies yet.

Last night's Gossip Girl was really good, Lily isn't going to be happy when she hears Rufus's wife is back in town! Rufus and Lily have more chemistry than other couple (or psuedo-couple) on the show! Definitely not enough (any?) Lily in this episode.

I thought that Blair's arc of excitement and disappointment was even better executed this time than in the photo shoot episode (one of my faves). And how great was it to see Nate finally stand up to his parents in a decisive way - my god, whose parents try that hard to pimp them out all the time? He should get emancipated. It was a nice parallel for both Nate and Dan to both stand up to a wayward parent and really speak their minds for the first time.

The Jenny-Nate scene was quite charming too - they actually seem kinda well-suited to each other, he is laid back and gentlemanly, she is sweet and innocent and cute. I liked that Jenny gave Nate the exact same advice as Chuck Bass had already given Nate. It was coming from a completely non-selfish place with Jenny - but the same (good) advice. Even Chuck was more likable this episode than usual, acknowledging his own romantic feelings to Blair with convincing chagrin and horror. I think they have way more chemistry as a couple than Blair and Nate anyway - both cold, manipulative, powerful, needing someone to love them as they are.

I hate Vanessa, though, her character is quite obnoxious and rude, and she just forces her presence on everyone. The actress is doing fine, and she is lovely, but the character is the problem for me. RUDE!!!!! I know she is just trying to adjust to her unexpected role now that Dan and Serena are dating, but I just roll my eyes every time she shows up onscreen (usually unannounced, uninvited, through somebody's window, and AWKWARD!).

Pushing Daisies was funny. I loved the scene of Ned with the therapist discussing "mating" problems. It was hilarious how flustered he was getting.

PD was fine but the dialog deliver is from the Gilmore girls school of diction. Now if they can add "talking while walking in long corridors of the White House" I can stop watching this series.
