The Morning After: Visit Your Mother

'Tis the time to convene about last night's TV, and since the clock is running down on its remaining pre-strike episodes, this is a good time to look at How I Met Your Mother. Despite--or perhaps because of--the fact that this season has backed off the meeting-your-mother premise, it's been on a tear lately. I've TiVoed last night's and am saving to enjoy it with Mrs. Tuned In, but you tell me: did it hold up? With a title like "Slapsgiving," how could it not? Either way, enjoy it while it lasts.

    Yes it did, that whole story was pretty much perfect, you're gonna have a pretty awesome Slapsgiving !

    I'm more reserved about the other plot of the episode, but all in all it was yet another great one.

    Happy Slapsgiving everybody!

    Just a quick note about Chuck - near the end of the episode the agents were chasing a Greek smuggler and his son through a warehouse, total cliché gun-battle-and-surrender stuff, and I suddenly thought "this is how the end of the second season of The Wire would've ended, if The Wire was a pedestrian show"

    Slapsgiving was one of the best episodes yet. I've been hooked on this show since the second or third episode of the first season, but my husband wasn't completely sold until last night. After Marshall's song at the end, hubby said, "that's it! I officially love this show!"

    Loved the "Slapsgiving" episode! It was great! OMG - Marshall rocked the song!

    @geoff - Best. Comment. Today.

    Still, I loved Chuck last night, although I think they could have (and should have) milked the Chuck-Lou-Sarah triangle a little while longer (maybe because I'm fond of Rachel Bilson on screen?)

    Chuck was awesome last night!! The scene where Sarah wrapped her legs around Lester to scare him off was priceless - talk about biting off more than you can chew. . . And that was a heck of a Chuck-Sarah kiss there at the end. I hope that Morgan and Anna last awhile longer, they are so adorable!!! And Adam Baldwin continues to deliver the heck out of whatever silly lines he is given. I thought that Chuck had really good chemistry with Lou, and I thought that it was clever to end things with them by "revealing" Chuck to be an FDA agent/informant. Good stuff all around, except for a disturbing lack of Ellie and Captain Awesome.

    I loved last night's episode, although the storyline with Ted and robin and how they aren't really over each other might just go round and round but I hope not. I hope Marshall puts up another slap countdown.

    To AGT: I didn't think that Ted and Robin weren't over each other, I think that the episode was about their transition back to actual friendship. Once they agreed to drop the facade of friendship, they were surprised to realize that they had an actual friendship underneath.

    Hilarious episode. Definitely want another slap countdown. The 4th slap should be a complete surprise, then the 5th slap should have a countdown and a party and every other festive thing!
