Strike Watch: The Daly Show Is Coming Back!

Sadly, that is not a typo. The Daly show--as in Last Call with Carson Daly--is reportedly planning to return to the air next week despite the writers' strike. And he needs your help. The Smoking Gun reprints an e-mail, purportedly from Daly, seeking contributions to a "joke hotline" for a bit meant to send up how hard up the show is for actual funny jokes by professional writers. But beware: the e-mail says he cc'ed "my personal doctor in NY" on the request for gags, so you'd better bring your A game.

In related news: Carson Daly still has a TV show.

Striking writers could raise money for the production crews (those really suffering from the strike) by putting Daly in a pillory at Times Square and selling fruits and vegetables to passers-by. I bet MTV would pick that up if they could.

Are you kidding me? I LOVE this show. I especially love it when Tyson Daly does his lovably Aunt Blabby character.

Wait, that was someone else. Who is Tyson Daly, exactly?

Does this mean Carson Daly will have actual celebrities as guests? They have nowhere else to go for promotion, right? Will Carson know how to handle it, or will he assume that Will Smith has signed on for I Love New York 3?
