Heroes: Someone! Will! Die! Or Something!

Tonight, as NBC is promo-ing, "two heroes will fall" as "Volume 2: Generations comes to an explosive, bloody finish." Judging by recent history, I think we can definitely take that as an ironclad promise that two characters will fall, downward, and substantial portions of their body will come in contact with the ground. And perhaps they will also die, until someone infuses them with Claire's blood, or they discover a heretofore-unknown power, or a wizard does something.

But for funsies, let's assume that two Heroes actually do bite it. Predictions? I'm going to say West, on the last-hired-first-fired principle, which would also offer Claire a big dramatic moment. And Maya is a plausible candidate, as she could set Sylar up with her goopy-eyes power for the may-not-materialize second half of the season. But dare I dream Mohinder? [Note: I neither have inside info nor frequent spoiler sites, so take this as the guesswork that it is. Please play nice about spreading actual spoilerage in the comments.] This could be your last chance to Heroes-theorize for quite a while, so have at it.

I wouldn't miss West, he has been pretty irritating for the most part, and hasn't done much to forward the story. Please God don't let them kill of Elle. Elle's dad, maybe - Tobowlsky, or whatever his name is.

My vote, however, is for Mohinder to Die ASAP. He is really ruining things for me, I can't listen to him talk. I don't think that Ma Petrelli is safe, despite being all protected-in-custody. I like her character, she is so cold and manipulative, I hope she doesn't die.

Not Peter. Not Nathan. Not Hiro. Not Niki. Not Claire. Not Parkman. Not sweet little Micah. I don't think that Maya will die, and I don't think Sylar will either.

Let's hear it for West and Mohinder, who obviously should both be killed off for the sake of the show.

I'm going to have to go with the real supervillain of large cast dramas:
The Movie Career. (And his sidekick, Solo Part.)

As such, if you count bad guys as "Heroes":
Nikki/Jessica: Thus breaking out the split personalities for all of one (flashback) episode, in what will become the worst subplot of the season.
    Sylar: See Young Spock.

If Heroes only means good guys:
    Still Nikki/Jessica.
    Maya.
(Sylar gets temporarily disabled somehow to show up in a later season once his scheduling works out better.)

Personally, I hope West doesn't buy it, because all his "We're superior" talk has to be a long term plot to convert Claire to being a violent seperatist "Hero", right?

I'm tired of Micah, and the whole "son pays for the sins of the mother" angle has dramatic appeal.

I could live without West, Maya, Nikki, or Mohinder, though I doubt he dies as his character is too important to the overall mythology of the show. The Haitian also might bite it.

Elle really ought to stay, if they can keep Kristen Bell on the show.

I'm not sure who's going to die, but I really hope that there are repercussions for the blood transfusions. Even if that means Nathan and HRG eventually die, or turn evil, or get shanti, whatever. Season 2 is way too early to start bringing people back from the dead.
Here's to hoping it's Mohinder. Twice.

@James - a new "Lost" mobisode is up on ABC.com, and it's by far the most exciting/interesting/dramatic yet.

    Three words: Michael. And. Juliet.

A really clever marketing ploy by ABC, really, putting these scenes up. Also a great way to sate my appetite for new episodes. And finally, a central point to the writer's strike - shouldn't writers be compensated in some residual form for these scenes (which will clearly be seen by millions of Lost fans, and probably included in future DVD sets, etc.)?

The only heroes that have been able to generate any emotion from me this season are Claire and Matt. So hopefully they don't go anywhere. I never have blood lust when it comes to these tv death predictions, no one annoys me enough to want the actor put out of work.

Also, I agree that the latest Lost M.P. was awesome. It just feels good watching these characters again. And the actors really delivered. And they're now using these snippets to their fullest potential. What's cool is that there doesn't have to be the obligatory introduction between Micheal and Juliet in order for their characters to interact next season.

Haven't seen the episode yet - I was teaching last night.

I'm hoping for Mohinder - twice. He's killed and then brought back with Claire's blood only to be killed again. That would be great. Can't stand that character anymore - not that I was in love with it in the first place.
