A Retraction and Apology
Earlier today, I denigrated the proposed Fox variety show starring the Osbourne family by comparing the idea to The Brady Bunch Variety Hour.
Afterward, I decided to surf YouTube for some clips of the Brady Bunch show, which I haven't seen since I was a teeny boy. And now I must hereby take back and apologize for my earlier remarks. If The Osbournes' variety hour is so lucky as to even approach the Brady Bunch Variety Hour, it will be awesome. Cancelled within hours, but awesome.
Seriously: Florence Henderson dancing with Milton Berle? Tina Turner singing Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes? Ann B. Davis duetting with Rip Taylor? Barry Williams singing Shining Star backed up by Marie Antoinette / Bicentennial go-go girls? All in one musical number? My. God. We have truly forgotten the art of entertainment.
I only hope Swingtown stays around long enough to work this into an episode.
