The Morning After: Would-Be Baby Mama
30 Rock returned last night, pulled by the publicity snow machine that was Tina Fey's impersonation of Sarah Palin. Of the two episodes I've seen, I liked next week's—with guest star Oprah Winfrey—better, but last night's, which returned to the storyline of Liz Lemon trying to adopt a baby, was welcome too. It's been so long since I watched it, though, that I can't tell you exactly why. (Although Kathy Geiss is one of the most disturbingly funny supporting characters anywhere.) So you tell me why. Or did it make you long to see Fey behind a debate podium again?

My personal highlight was Kathy's impassioned "kiss!" during Liz & Jack's faux Soap Opera act.
And I agree, I think before next week's episode I'll have to rewatch season 2 (assuming the DVDs arrive from Amazon on time)

This might be considered a spoiler, I don't know. So, just in case, SPOILER ALERT:
Ausiello over at EW says that Don Draper is in talks to play a recurring character on 30 Rock as a neighbor/potential love interest for Liz:

Yeah, I'm a little foggy on everything that happened at the end of last season - but it didn't make this episode any less funny. And Bev's interviews with all Liz's coworkers were like fun little re-introductions to the characters.

For all the little details: the photo in the office of Jack with Kim Jong Il... the green room temporarily turned into a nursery (why the fake babies?)... the solid-gold nunchuks...
