Once and Future King?

ABC

ABC

When I read the news that Fox was canceling King of the Hill, I thought: Well, at least we'll have The Goode Family, the animated series Mike Judge is developing for ABC. Turns out ABC might have both The Goode Family and KOTH; reportedly, the network is considering picking up KOTH as a companion show for Goode.

It would be surprising to me; the new show is enough of a risk/departure for ABC that I wouldn't expect them to double down on it this way. On the other hand, it's not like ABC is bursting with half-hour sitcoms to pair with the show, and Fox has had success with its double (soon to be triple) doses of Seth MacFarlane cartoons. Maybe there's a little more propane in Hank's tank after all.
