Remembering Sarah Palin
It's not that Sarah Palin didn't want to make herself more available for mainstream media interviews. It was just that, when you're in the middle of running for vice president, who has time for that kind of thing?
Now that that bit of business is over, however, Palin has become a regular camera hound. Last night, Fox News aired an extensive interview with Greta Van Susteren, in which Palin discussed her possible Presidential plans for 2012:
This is what I always do. I'm like, "God, if there is an open door for me somewhere"--this is what I always pray--"don't let me miss the open door. Show me the open door and even if it's just cracked a little bit, maybe I'll plow right on through that, maybe prematurely plow through it, but don't let me miss an open door." And if there is an open door in '12, or four years later, and if it's something that's going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door.
Meanwhile, she's plowing into our TV news screens with a vengeance. Palin was on the Today Show with Matt Lauer this morning. Later she talks with both Wolf Blitzer and Larry King of CNN.
The reason for the interviews is pretty obvious, as the Van Susteren interview quote indicates: enhancing her image for a possible Presidential run next time out, or at least burnishing her status as a party leader. But why now? After all, the campaign is still very recent and some of the lingering questions pretty hot. (Lauer, for instance, asked Palin about some of the charges of runaway wardrobe spending, some of which she denied as false, others of which she not-quite-denied by instead attacking her critics as anonymous chickens.) Why not lay low?
While Palin may have years, or at least long months, to plan her next move, she'll only have the white-hot pop-cultural attention—already starting to cool—for a while longer. That leaves this as her best chance to make voters' last memory of her, before her eventual re-introduction, as a positive one: a scrapper, a go-getter, a charismatic folksy pol (hence all the interviews in her kitchen with the family) who was in no way to blame for the McCain-Palin ticket's loss.
That, whatever she thinks of the mainstream media, takes mainstream media attention to correct. And she needs to plow through that door while it's still open a crack.

I suggest Palin works on basic English, takes some classes in government, and starts to investigate ethics. Losing the kooky church wouldn't hurt either.

Sarah Palin has stength and knowledge that all of you liberal media-ites obviously fear. Before you continue slamming Palin,Why don't you brush up on your own language and spelling skills.I'm sure she could defeat any of the media creeps at an IQ test on her worst day.
-
30
Boredah, (who made a remark somewhere above this one), if you knew anything about IQ you would know that verbal fluency is a major indicator of intelligence. Verbal and reading comprehension are leading indicators of the ability to interpret and communicate about the world around us. It also lends strength to expression of culturally significant ideas. Unless she is hiding a PhD in Math or Physics, I doubt her IQ will intimidate any "media creep" waiting in the wings to unjustly pounce on her.
One thing is painfully obvious. Sarah Palin's inability to string together coherent sentences with normal, recognizable cadence. Additionally, she does not profer original, novel ideas during conversation. Mostly, she says a lot of "folksy" nothing. Sometimes, when challenged she reacts, pontificates or makes pronouncements. She derides sources, twists what is said about her and diminishes accusations. And that is where she is very, very clever. But she never offers brilliant rebuttals or substantial evidence to the contrary about anything. No brilliance. No substantial evidence. Unlike Barack Obama, who completely leaves her in the dust on that front.
Why is Sarah Palin so challenged in conversational substance? This is why. She lacks creative empathy for others. That's the difference between a showpiece and the genuine article. She is loyal to herself.
She is also part of the Alaska Independence Party. A group that wants to succeed from the USA. And she still ran for Vice President. That is also a moral flaw. Who would run for VP when their loyalties are so divided? It's a conflict of interest!
I hope this woman never attains to any substantial position of power. She will "rule" like a six year old. God help us. We just got rid of one of those.

I listened to two-thirds of the Greta interview with Palin and it pained me so much I couldn't watch anymore. The woman just babbles and says absolutely nothing. I don't find her the least bid credible. I wish she'd just go back to governing Alaska. I can't take seeing her on television anymore.

Why must we keep going on about SARAH? IF the media dolts (and the rest of my fellow Obama-ites)would just ignore her she would have fallen back into the Alaskan wilderness and disappeared from whence she came. But no, let's talk about this woman ad nauseum and make her something more than she is-why follow a brillant victory with slobbering stupidity?
-

I think it's reasonable for Gov. Palin to get on a few shows and clear the air about the allegations made against her in the last several days, especially if she has ambitions for higher office. If she just let it linger the allegations would stick whether they were true or not. The allegations were pretty damaging, making her out to be a dolt, a worse pick for VP than anyone outside the campaign had once thought (whether you thought she was up to the job or not). I mean imagine if a few Obama aides had come out before or after the election saying that when asked, Obama couldn't find China on a map, didn't understand how the Cold War ended, and seemed confused about whether Russia was still under Soviet control or not. He'd have to put those rumors to rest right away or else his ability to competently do the job would be questioned.

Remembering who?
Just kidding. She's Michael Palin's sister or something, right? :/

um... obviously you don't keep up with the news.... sarah palin was cleared of all ethics charges the night before the election... and about kooky churches... if obama's kooky church was off-limits, why the hell are we even bringing up palin's church?
as far as education is concerned... first of all, the man stumbles and stutters "um, uh uh" throughout everything. but he is well accomplished at convincing people of whatever they want to believe of his overly vague "plans". second, the man obviously has no education as far as american or world history is concerned. the berlin wall came down because of the world's desire for "unity"? wtf?! the wall came down because the soviet union collapsed! socialism/communism failed!! and his hate for those who cling to religion, guns, and antipathy? if it weren't for people possessing those traits, there would be no america! our founders came here for freedom of religion, militias of men clinging to their own guns helped us win the revolution, and their antipathy towards all that tried to suppress them was what motivated them to accomplish all that they did!
and lets hint at his lack of knowledge to a successful economy... "from the bottom up"? who was the last dirt poor individual who owns nothing more than clothing and a tv give someone a job and pay them wages for it. or give a loan large enough for someone to buy a home, or a business that would provide more jobs? "from the bottom up" my butt.
as pointed out before, sarah palin lives her life by accountability, and lives what she believes (she didn't abort her "defective" child, and is incredibly well rounded and self accomplished, especially for a woman). obama, the man who says we should help one another out, can't even lend a hand to his brother living in a hut smaller than your bathroom on less than $1 a day or his illegal alien aunt living in the projects in boston.
all of you who supported obama have been played for fools. just wait.

I LOOOOVE Sarah Palin! ROFL! It kills me how all you liberals can't stand her! I really did appreciate the comment above about how the INTERNET played such a significant roll in tearing her apart. Well said! If I remember correctly, isn't that where the "Trig isn't her SON, he is her GRANDSON" theory came from? I have never in my 40 years ever heard of anything so ridiculous! Typical hyper sensitive alarmist liberal speak. What a bunch of HYPOCRITS! Lose the Kooky Church? Oh PLEASE! I guess she better do what Obama did then....lose the Kooky Reverand.....
I don't see any way she will be running for the Presidency, ever, so you all can relax.....gosh knows it really burned you that there was even a SHOT she could have made it in before Saint Hillary! But I sincerely hope she will be out there stumping for whomever is the Republican candidate in 2012.
We haven't seen the last of her!! We love her too much!!

Sarah Palin was cleared of charges by a panel that is employed by her! The true investigative panel found her guilty and the one that she could fire, not so who should you believe? She will be under investigation for who actually built their house. Todd says he and a few "buddies" built a $500,000 mansion. Well, yes, if your "buddies" are the owners of the construction company that your wife (the governor)gave the Wasilla sports complex construction bid (12 million $$$) to that just happens to be down the road from your house that was built at the same time, with the same windows, etc. Read the blog "Mudflats" from a blogger in Alaska and you will learn a lot about Palin and how much she hasn't done for the state and how much most Alaskans really don't like her.
She is a political nightmare and hopefully goes away.

*sigh* yes, I have read Mudflats.....you know, I would give his/her stories more creedence if it wasn't so one sided. It's obvious that person doesn't like her and is determined to be a one person wrecking ball to her, her image and her career. I find it strange that is appears to be this persons life's work to tear apart a politician. And really, one person's opionion hardly speaks for the entire state of Alaska. Her approval rating is still pretty high last I heard. So to say "most of Alaska doesn't like her" what does that mean? 75%? 95%? or 51%....."most" is a pretty vague term here....she is hardly a political nightmare.....well, maybe she was to the liberal agenda! ha ha!

tony rezko anyone?
it's funny the things "they" try to fling at palin while overlooking similar, yet much larger and more serious, doings on obama's behalf.
i'm pretty sure palin didn't highjack funds for education and dispurse them to acorn and radical groups not quite on the educational agenda, either.
we can all go back and forth with it... but all of the allegations towards palin pale in comparison to obama. down right petty in comparison really.
but that's okay... everyone's in for a rude awakening. and you'll all be kicking yourselves (or somehow blaming it all on everyone else).
-

I agree with you no1youknow. I am amazed at the self righteous attitudes I have seen from so MANY liberal bloggers......so eager to throw stones but God FORBID anyone wants to take a closer look at THEIR candidate.....that is just "mean" and "hateful" and "racist"....."Family is off limits" Obama said but that sure didn't stop the liberal media from going to Alaska on some witch hunt, shoving some poor 17 year old girl and her boyfriend into the spotlight.....spreading rumors that Trig was Palin's GRANDSON and not her son.....ridiculous I tell you....they should be ashamed.....
But you know what, it is all over now.....the liberals got what they wanted and now we just have to sit back and see what happens.....

Does Sarah Palin have an acute, dangerous personality disorder? She has "offered" her help to president-elect Obama if he should happen to need her. HUH????
-
50
grannykatz, the woman lost the election, has been gracious in her offering support and prayers to Mr. Obama and you accuse her of having an "acute, dangerous personality disorder"??!! WTF? Can you say "Alarmist"?? There is nothing wrong with being graceful and offering her service to the next President....oh wait, you must not understand what it MEANS to be a graceful loser.....let me guess....whining, pissing and moaning more your style?
Sheesh, I am so sick of hearing how this woman can't do ANYTHING right in the eyes of a liberal blogger.....I think the only thing that would make you people happy would be if you had the opportunity to BURN HER at the STAKE! Jeeze.....
She wishes him the best, offers her assistance if needed, prays for YOUR man and that STILL isn't good enough......you SUCK.
