New Lost Trailer/Video/Thing

There's a new promo for Lost / music video for The Fray's "You Found Me," containing old and new scenes from the series, which returns in January (along with Big Love, Flight of the Conchords, Battlestar Galactica, and it seems pretty much every other reason to watch television):

Have at it. My one observation: The Fray is to Coldplay as Drive Shaft is to Oasis.

  1. You weren't kidding when you said that every reason to watch television was pushed back to January this season. And because I don't remember ever seeing anything about it here, do you watch the current iteration of Dr. Who?

  2. Is Reaper still coming back in January?

  3. Does ABC own the Fray? Didn't a season or two ago there was that commerical for Grey's with the Fray's "How to save a life"

  4. Oh yeah and what are we at, like the 60ish day mark on the count down? The Swampies may count 'till Obama, but us Tuned Inners obviously have a more important count down. ;-)

  5. There's a weird, little hidden message within the trailer. At the 1:35 and 2:25 marks, they flash a logo for a company called Ajira Airways, which has a website at AjiraAirways.com. What it means...no clue. But it probably has something to do with money, money, money! "We have to go back!...on Ajira Airways, official airline of Lost!"

  6. 24, Damages, Nip/Tuck, various reality shows, etc...
(And special cases like FNL for those without satellite.)
Seriously James, I'm surprised you haven't started working on a print article yet. "The 2008 TV season finally starts.. in 2009."
No word on when Reaper returns (although, in general, I don't believe CBS or CW have announced their winter schedules yet).

  7. Err, Ajira isn't a real airline, the site is owned by ABC, and they conveniently start operating on the day Lost returns.
I don't generally care about their ARGs until I find out who is writing them - if it is ABC (vs. Bad Robot) then there is little point in caring.
Although one could point out the Indian influence and if that heralds a new multi-ethnic playing field in the current real world era (yes, there are entities like Paik Industries, but they exist as mere suppliers to the extremely European players like Widmore, the DeGroots, etc.)

  8. The song wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'm such a Lost purist that I really don't like the attempts of cross-promoting with all sorts of different pop culture. The whole idea is slightly more interesting than a straight up trailer, though. And the footage was so good - for some reason I wasn't grabbed by the last trailer, but this one got me pumped up.

  9. Does anyone know where I can find a frozen donkey wheel to turn to transport me to January??

  10. I am convinced that the first quarter of 2009 will be the best television we will ever have. Lost, BSG, Damages, Big Love, FotC and FNL. And Breaking Bad comes back in March. Not to mention shows that are already on in the fall...plus Reaper. My DVR is going to be getting a workout.

  11. Oh I got all excited for a minute, until I realized this is the thing I got from iTunes the other day. . .Great song, and wonderful clips! I'm almost more excited for LOST to start than I am about gas being $1.79.
