I was rather shocked to hear Elton misindentify New York Tendaberry as Nyro's second album. Its actually her third; her first was originally entitled "Laura Nyro-More Than a New Discovery" on (iirc) Verve Records, and re-released as "The First Songs" on Columbia years later. "Eli" was 2nd, and NYT third.

In the movie Playing by Heart, released in 1998 or 99, there is a quote "Talking about love is like dancing about architecture". It is possible that is what you are thinking of?

OK, this is driving me crazy. What movie was that quote used in? Its on the tip of my brain and irritating the crap out of me.
