Joe the... War Correspondent

Let it never be said that no media organizations are expanding their overseas coverage. A conservative website has hired Real America resident Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher as a war correspondent. Wurzelbacher will reportedly spend ten days in Israel, asking Israeli "Average Joes" to tell their stories as fighting rages in Gaza.

In other news, ABC News is "freeing resources" by cutting back on reporters in Iraq and picking up reports from the BBC. (Via Romenesko.) Any correspondents seeking work after the cutback may wish to look into the plumbing opportunities now open in the greater Toledo area.

Seems to me Joe is trying to work outside of the US to get around his little tax problem he was asking Obama about. And really Israel? I know they are getting rockets lobbed at them every now and then, but that's like sending a reporter to ask citizens of Kuwait about their Iraqi war stories. Send him to Gaza!

    second Iraqi war, obviously

Ah, the old fifteen minutes. The next thing I expect to see about Joe is a Yahoo homepage news item that he scored a record deal with some Nashville studio.

Its so bewildering and just plain ridicoulous that Joe the plumber is
being sent to Israel, a country full of culture and life, pain and
strife...This man has the brain of a cow in pasture. There are many of us (writers/journalists) that would jump at the chance to interview everyday people in Israel and would treasure the memory beyond thought. What a waste!
