The Morning After: Successful Transplant?

ABC
Scrubs last night began its first season on a new network, ABC, in the process generating much more attention than it would have were it beginning its eighth season on its old network, NBC. What say you, Scrub-o-philes: was the procedure a success? Or is it being unnecessarily prolonged past the limits of its natural life?

I thought the first episode was as good as typical Scrubs gets (loved that the first joke they aired on ABC was a joke about being on ABC.)
The second episode, however, "My Last Words", was the kind of entertainment that Scrubs excels at over every other comedy (besides perhaps The Office) - goofy comedy rooted in sincerely moving gravitas. Watching Turk and J.D. comfort the dying patient George over the length of the episode was surprisingly moving, even for Scrubs which has been known to pull this kind of tender emotion out of nowhere now and then.
Also, I don't know how these things get started but can we please keep the actor who played George (IMDb tells me it was Glynn Turman) on our short-list for Guest Actor consideration at the Emmys. His work was some of the best I've seen, Guest or Lead, all year. Anyone else?

As someone who caught the entire series within the last year on Comedy Central, and thus not affected by fatigue, I really liked it. Courtney Cox was surprisingly great, JD was not only tolerable, but slightly likable again. And the touchy-feely intern was hilarious.

Ditto on Glynn Turman, who's on a *very* short list for Guest Actor consideration: He won the award a few months ago for his work on "In Treatment."
