I can't believe how the posts I am reading (here and other blogs) are so hateful toward these contestants. Why is it that people feel then need to tear down others - is it to give their lives some more sense of meaning? I guess that is why the gossip rags at the newsstand are so popular. These contestants, even if you don't agree with their "celebrity" status, are putting themselves through this, and the public gossip that seems to go with it, for charity. Well over a million dollars went to charities with the first installment of the celebrity apprentice. Is it so wrong for them not to "slip gracefully into retirement" and actually put themselves out there for a cause? Good thing Claudia Jordan thought her charity was worth fighting for, even though she knew she would be mocked by people like Lulu Lulu for "holding briefcase #1". If people spent less time tearing down these "celebrities" and more time doing good for some cause, this world would be a much better place.

I think Ex-Celebrity Apprentice would be a better title - well, except for the #1 briefcase girl. But most of these are people who actually were household names for awhile (albeit, a very brief while for some) -- why they can't slip gracefully into retirement to enjoy their gold medals and hit records and whatever else is beyond me.

What happened to Clint Black? Has he really sunk so low? profoundly so. (I want to know who wrote Black's description -- the word "profound" was used in both of the initial clauses of the first two sentences, and then there is "profoundly astounds" -- a phrase which doesn't make any sense to begin with.)
