TCA Roundup: No More Forty-Degree Days at Dunder-Mifflin

Headlines and announcements from and around the Television Critics' Association press tour:

* JAG spinoff NCIS will itself get a spinoff. Apparently CBS will keep milking its military-law success until it runs out of alphabet. Also, looks like John Mayer is getting a TV show. (The title Wonderland was already taken.)

* OMG GOSSIP GIRL PREQUEL. No, we're not talking "Gossip Girl Babies"; the spinoff will follow a teenage Lily.

* Amy Pohler's sitcom found its star months ago. Now it finally has a premise! Poehler will play an Indiana bureaucrat battling other bureaucrats to build a park. Producers of The Office are behind it, so I'll give this the benefit of the doubt.

* And speaking of The Office, Idris Elba will get a guest story arc on as a "new no-nonsense hire" at Dunder-Mifflin's corporate office who will throw Michael Scott's job "into turmoil." Which makes sense, because Stringer Bell was a no-nonsense businessman (NSFW language):

I'm kind of excited about the GG spinoff, wild Lily in the 80s!
    .
And will give Poehler and the Office kids the benefit of the doubt on the show but... and if they're just getting the premise out now when will we ever see the show. I guess I'll need to be satisfied with Dollhouse in the meantime.

    Stringer Bell? In Scranton?
    .
I'm calling it -- Greatest. Casting. Ever.
    .
Seriously, just the thought of this makes me laugh hysterically....which is good, because the laughing keeps me warm while Chicago battles sub-zero temperatures.
