TV Tonight: Pedro Returns to MTV

Tonight, MTV airs Pedro, its biopic about Pedro Zamora, the Real World season 3 housemate who was afflicted with AIDS and used the limelight—on the show and off it, until his death—to raise awareness of the disease. I never got around to doing a review, but MTV has been enlisting this big guns to promote the movie, including this introduction by former President Bill Clinton:

Pedro airs tonight at 8 p.m. E.T.

    As someone pointed out, MTV, which used to play music videos, is now airing an original movie starring actors, dramatizing the life of a real person involved in a reality show that it aired on its own network involving non-actors. This after the reality television boom that this show created/fostered on television killed a great deal of original programming....
    .
    Very post-modern, indeed.
