The Morning After: While I Was Out

The Philanthropist is great TV. The first episode was very engaging, the second episode was good also but it was a little too cavalier, teetering on sentimental. I didn't care for the second hand story telling by Jesse L. Martin's character in the episode. It took the needed sincerity from James Purefoy's character. Martin's need to convince the Board of Directors became cavalier, snide, and sentimental. The point of view they tell these episodes from are a trick hat but it gives them an array of opportunity. it is a show I would tune into every night.

Kings has me hooked. I don't watch it on Saturday night but I do catch it the next day on Hulu. (NBC's website must not be getting any traffic because Hulu is so much more convenient.) The Majestic quality of the show ties me in and keeps me wanting more. I'm into it so I can see how they are going to make David King. The cliffhanger of him being arrested was a great ending. And Ian McShane as King Silas is must see TV.

I'm just anxiously awaiting the return of new episodes of Leverage on July 15th.....

Virtuality was amazing. What potential... I'm glad you let us know that it wasn't coming back in advance because I would have been really upset. I'm very glad they at least showed the pilot though. My favorite pilot in years.

@Rorschach -- I agree. I was transfixed by it (while realizing that it had some minor flaws that could have been addressed). It would have made a great extended mini-series (something that I wish SyFy would consider, as the pilot leaves a lot to explore).

I'm very much looking forward to Leverage. Just another week... I haven't seen Virtuality yet, but plan to download it or watch online at the next opportunity.

I HAVE gotten sucked into Merlin. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it (I marathoned the first 4 eps on Hulu when I was home sick one afternoon last week). Its family friendly, but not dumbed down to the point that its unwatchable. Good adventures, super-cheezy special effects, cute girls, and King Giles! Good summer fun.

Also, True Blood is AWESOME so far this season. Definitely loving it. The Closer, one of the only procedurals I watch regularly, is back with some good episodes. I saw the first couple of episodes of Weeds, and now wish that I had Showtime. Looking forward to Mad Men and Psych as well.
