BSG, Betty White and More Win TCA Awards

The Television Critics Association gave out its 25th annual awards last night in Pasadena. As with any awards, there were some winners I voted for and some I didn't, but it was good to see some great shows overlooked by the Emmys get recognition, in particular Program of the Year Battlestar Galactica, and to see Betty White honored for her decades in TV comedy.

The highlight of my evening was getting to present the award to Outstanding Children's Program—and personal favorite of mine—Yo Gabba Gabba! By giving an award to DJ Lance Rock, I may finally have done something in my work that my kids can appreciate.

The full list of winners after the jump:

The Big Bang theory, really? Is there anything to that? The nerd stereotyping drove me nuts for the 20 seconds that I spent trying to watch it. TV comedy must have fallen pretty far since Arrested Development- Curb Your Enthusiasm can't come back quickly enough!

The Big Bang Theory won and so did Jim Parsons! **Happy dances**

Not to pile on but I don't understand the love for BBT either. I suppose that the critics use this spotlight to show some love to a personal favorite "undiscovered" show.

What's the point of giving the award to 30 Rock, The Office or even How I Met Your Mother, all of which are clearly superior. But Flight of the Conchords is better and relatively obscure (though possibly dead.) I am sure there are others I cannot think of because I have been drinking cough syrup all morning.

I'll pile on to the hatred of BBT. I thought people quit laughing at nerds once they graduated highschool.
