Whedonverse, BSGverse Continue to Merge

FOX
It still seems strange to be writing an item on Dollhouse's season 2, considering how unlikely the prospect seemed when season 1 ended. But TV Guide has a preview article, including news of yet more crossover to Dollhouse from the exiles of Battlestar Galactica. Joining BSG's Tahmoh Penikett will be Jamie Bamber (Apollo) and Michael Hogan (Tigh) in the first and second episodes, respectively. "Joss Whedon is a huge fan of Battlestar and ultimately it was about him wanting to bring in some very talented actors who were great for the parts," Penikett tells TV Guide. (Dollhouse's pilot, you'll recall, name-checked Edward James Olmos.)
All this follows on the news that James Marsters, who played Spike on Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will be on BSG prequel Caprica (as will Patton Oswalt, who was in an episode of Dollhouse season 1. Caprica itself is being run by former BSG producer Jane Espenson, a Buffy alum. I'd suggest a crossover episode, but these are already starting to look like crossover series.

Then what's he doing bringing on Apollo?
(Too soon?)

Fair game. Bamber was always a weak link for me on BSG.

Word! He was always a weak link for me, too. I always wondered if I would like the character more if he had been played by someone that DIDN'T irritate the crap out of me on a weekly basis. In theory, he's the character that I should have liked the most - the idealist trying to find a moral path through chaos and disintegration. But in practice, I just wanted to smack him most of the time.
...My mama always says that "in theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they're very different."

Really? I loved Apollo and thought Jamie Bamber did a good job. Mind you, I am a little bummed out that Bamber still has 'politician Apollo' hair. What's that about, darnit?

Aw common, no Apollo bashing.. .the dude was kind of annoying but he's a hero and deserves our respect!

I respect anyone who fights their own accent for 77 hours of acting. And the dude was in Band of Brothers, so I'll give him some extra respect there. That being said, I can't say Bamber was the strongest cast member on BSG, though I certainly liked his character. Sackhoff bugged me much more as Starbuck, though I warmed to her over the seasons (either that or she became a better actor).
