The Morning After: Not the Fault of My Receiver

My live-primetime-TV viewing is going to be limited for the next week or so, and for once, it's not my Tivo's fault. I'm having some house work done which has put my primary TV in storage for a while. So I'll be more dependent than usual on Hulu and on whatever episodes I get in advance on DVD; for everything else, my morning-after posts are going to be delayed or limited. Fortunately, much of primetime is laying low on account of baseball. Doesn't everyone plan their home renovations around the fall TV schedule?

In the meantime, feel free to post here on Sons of Anarchy, So You Think You Can Dance, or any other TV from last night. I'll catch up when I catch up. Also, it turns out House Hunters is available on Hulu, so I'm basically not going to get any kind of work done again, ever.

Speaking of laying low on account of sports coverage, what's up with this report that Lost is going to take a few weeks off in the middle of its run to avoid the Winter Olympics? Really messes with the momentum of a serial like Lost -- I even hated when True Blood took Labor Day weekend off before its season finale, and based on the finale's ratings I wasn't alone.

    Note to ABC: DVRs exist.

My first thought on hearing the report was "Eff the Olympics, I hope we lose every event."

This is what Lost has done to me. Damn you Lost!

Well, on the upside, you do have to watch tv to get any work done. . .

Last night's SoA was the best of the season so far. They're able to surprise me without making it seem like a trick or twist. Last season I had the show pegged as "The Shield" junior, but they've seriously improved. It's good to see them rewarded with the well-deserved ratings increase.

Conversely, Dexter has gone from lackluster to unwatchable without fast-forwarding. The B characters need to die, or be given useful plotlines. I can't watch 3 romantic subplots.
