Good news, Chuck fans! You don’t need to eat a Subway sandwich to save your show! Good news, V fans! You don’t need to eat whatever disgusting alien food product you would have had to have eaten to save your show!

At the rate news is leaking out, officially and un-, about next fall’s schedules, next week’s upfront announcements will be almost superfluous. (One exception is CBS, which is almost quaintly dedicated to advance secrecy.) So NBC is keeping Chuck for a fourth season, while ABC hangs on to V for a second—and reportedly has made several other pickups, while other ABC shows were not so lucky:

In at ABC, according to the Variety report linked above: sitcoms Mr. Sunshine (with Matthew Perry), Happy Endings and Better Together and dramas My Generation, The Whole Truth and (intriguing to this Michigander) Detroit 187. Not long for this world, says Ausiello: Romantically Challenged, Scrubs, Better Off Ted and FlashForward.

And Law & Order? Still canceled, unless it’s not.
