Today, my picks (preferences, not predictions) for the comedy-actor nominations (lead and supporting categories) at the Emmys next week.

My spiel again: For my personal picks, I’ve mainly (but not exclusively) stuck to those actors and actresses nominated by their own shows, and mainly (but not exclusively) assigned them to the categories they were submitted in, be it lead or supporting. I also stuck to six per category, so (in most categories anyway) I left out a lot of deserving shows or performances. You don’t have to follow any of these guidelines in your own picks. I will not be grading your work. (The Emmy calendar, remember, runs roughly from June through May.)

Now, I’ll show you mine, and you show me yours:

Lead: Adam Scott (Party Down), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Joel McHale (Community), Steve Carell (who had strong episodes even in a weak season of The Office), Matthew Morrison (for his versatile performance in Glee, despite the uneven writing of his character)

Supporting: Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Danny Pudi (Community), Rico Rodriguez and Ty Burrell (Modern Family, which seemingly went for all supporting nominations this year), Chris Colfer (Glee), Ted Danson (Bored to Death)
