As Comic-Con wraps up in San Diego (at which point, I believe, people start getting on line for the panels at next year’s Comic-Con in San Diego), a few more items of TV news:

* Entering the panel discussion wearing a stormtrooper outfit and a Dharma jumpsuit respectively, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof kicked off a discussion of the Lost finale and its aftermath with the above “deleted” scene from season one (actually shot just recently), in which we learn that the Man in Black’s real name was Barry. (I believe he began going by “Barack” later in life.)

* TIME’s Lev Grossman had audiences with the Queen and King of video geekdom, Felicia Day (“almost impossibly elfin — you really have to look at the tips of her ears to convince yourself she’s fully human”) and Joss Whedon (who believes that “Ron and Hermione would have gotten divorced”).

* And in non-sci-fi (mostly) TV news, the newest teacher on Community’s season three will be Michael Kenneth Williams of The Wire and Boardwalk Empire, who will play an ex-con biology teacher, and who I really hope does not get greeted at his neighborhood cafe with “Omar comin’!” because I have to imagine he gets kind of sick of that by now.
